Answers to your Questions

Q: "Will a temporary person be able to actually help out or will I just be paying for someone to stand around?"

A: Our employees are trained, competent people and will be able to handle most office assignments. Naturally, upon work commencement, your temporary employee will need some basic direction in order to understand what duties will be required and some basic orientation such as introductions to other staff and the locations of office equipment, and necessary resources.

Q: "What will it cost?"

A: Not as much as you might think. We invite you to request a quote today.

In addition to the basic salary for the employee, all benefits such as vacation pay, statutory holiday pay where appropriate, plus the employer’s portion of EI, CPP and WCB are paid. The hourly rate will be slightly higher than if you hired directly, however you save the cost of advertising for the position, the cost of interviewing and doing reference checks—the usual cost involved in hiring plus you won't be responsible for training. AND you avoid the complications if the employee does not work out.

Q: "Will I have to be concerned about confidentiality?"

A: No all of our temporary employees have signed a confidentiality agreement that covers confidential information they may see or overhear in the course of their employment with you.

Q: "What if I am not satisfied with the temporary employee?"

A: The Nine to Five Guarantee: We are committed to providing a high quality service and guarantee your satisfaction with our employees. If you feel the employee we have sent will be unable to meet the needs of your assignment, simply call us in the first 2 hours and we will immediately replace the employee without charge. Each employer is entitled to 2 replacements per assignment. That said, our employees are carefully selected and go through rigorous skill testing so that we are able to place people effectively. We are proud to say that we have a 100% success record.

Q: "What if I want to hire the employee on a permanent basis?"

A: We do not discourage clients from hiring any of our employees, An agency fee based on the employees full time salary would, however, be applied to offset the significant investment by Nine to Five.

Q: "Why are these employees just working on a temporary basis and not looking for full time work?"

A: There are many reasons why individuals are working on temporary assignments:

  • Some persons may be new in the area and choose to work on a temporary basis while they look for permanent work
  • Some people are early retirees who are looking to only work part time
  • Some may be mothers of children who are in school and they wish to augment the family income and enjoy the flexibility that temporary office work provides
  • Others like to work on temporary assignments because they like the variety and flexibility
  • Some are mature students taking particular courses and need temporary work to pay for their studies
